⏳ Dealing with impatience

Observing problems and retirement

Hey there,

No Winday-o-scale as can’t remember - think I’ll start writing this at the end of the work day.

Lesson of the day:

📌 People don’t like hearing that their request/plan makes sense. Instead it is better to replace it with a “can’t” instead of getting into reasons. Someone was being impatient and wanted to get something fixed even though the technician was coming later in the day. Given I didn’t know what the hardware was, what the drivers were, and I had things to do at home which doubles the travel time, it made sense to wait for the technician.

Gems of the day:

💎 From MFM, Shaan had a story meeting someone who became CEO and to find out what the problem was, they just pulled up a chair in the offices/warehouses and just observed before making a hypothesis. I think I like to out think problems but usually the answer is simply in front of us.

💎 Nicolas Cole, who is a writer, on Retirement with Greg Isenberg: Retirement is working with the primary goal to make something useful that might make money (as opposed working with primary to make money).

Kind regards,

Jay
